Your camera roll keeps everything and remembers nothing. Rewind goes back through it and gives you the days inside — sorted, named, and yours to keep.
A day is scattered across the whole roll. Sixty-one photos in a week, six of which were that Saturday — the walk, the table, the light at six — sitting among everything else you shot. A handful of photos can't hold a day, so Rewind reads the whole roll to find where your days are.

Each day it finds comes back as a page: an arched hero from the day itself, a receipt of where you were and how long you stayed, and the rest of the photographs laid out on the stops they belong to. Name it, keep it, or throw it away.

Does Veya upload my camera roll?
No. Nothing from your roll is stored, and your full-size photos stay in your library. Rewind works from when and where each photo was taken. When a day is unclear from that alone, a couple of thumbnail-sized previews are checked so it can be sure before it keeps anything.
Why does it want access to all my photos?
Because a day is scattered across the whole roll. Six photos from one Saturday sit among thousands of others, and Rewind has to read the roll to find where they are. You can grant limited access instead — Rewind will work with whatever subset you allow, and it will tell you it's only seeing part of the picture.
What about screenshots and junk?
They don't make the cut. Receipts, memes, saved graphics, screen recordings — anything that was never part of a day out gets left where it is.
What if it can't work out a day?
Then it doesn't invent one. Rewind keeps only the days it can pin to a time and a place. It would rather keep nothing than guess, and it will say so plainly if a scan comes back empty.
Do I have to pay for it?
No. Rewind is free and stays free, with no cap on the days it finds. An account only exists so your days survive losing your phone.
How long does a scan take?
Up to about five minutes on a big roll. It shows you the days as they land rather than making you wait for the end, and each scan stops once it has found around a dozen new ones — so there are usually more waiting the next time you run it.
