Questions, answered plainly.

What Veya does with your photos, what the free day actually includes, and what happens if you're on Android. If something here isn't clear, write to us and we'll fix the wording.

What Veya isNo. 01

What does Veya actually do?

Two things, and they're the same thing pointed in opposite directions. Rewind goes back through your camera roll and gives you the days you already lived. The Day Architect asks you a few questions and builds a day you haven't lived yet. Both end with something worth keeping.

Is this a trip planner?

No. Veya builds one day at a time, near you or in a city you name, and it's built to be walked into today or tomorrow — not to plan a two-week holiday.

How long does a day take to build?

About a minute. You watch it happen while it does — the brief being read, the places checked, the day laid out and bound.

How many places end up in a day?

Between two and seven, depending on how much time you said you had. A quick outing is two or three stops; a full day is five or six; into the night can run to seven.

Which cities does it work in?

Anywhere in the world, though it's strongest in bigger cities where there's more to choose from. Where coverage is thinner Veya says so up front rather than quietly handing you a thin day.

Your photosNo. 02

Does Veya upload my camera roll?

No. Nothing from your roll is stored, and your full-size photos stay in your library. Rewind works from when and where each photo was taken. When that isn't enough to be sure about a day, a couple of thumbnail-sized previews are checked before it keeps anything.

Why does Rewind want all my photos?

Because a day is scattered across the whole roll — six photos from one Saturday sitting among thousands. You can grant limited access instead, and Rewind will work with whatever you allow and tell you it's only seeing part of the picture.

Can I turn photo access off later?

Any time, in your device settings. It only affects Rewind and the photos you attach to a day you kept; everything else works without it.

Are my photos used for anything else?

No. They're never used for advertising, never used for facial recognition, and never used to build a profile of the people in them.

What it costsNo. 03

Is Rewind free?

Yes, and it stays free. No cap on the days it finds, no card involved.

What's included in the free day?

One crafted day — one, ever, not one a month. It's built as a full morning-to-night day and the opening stops are yours to walk. The rest of that day is held, along with keeping, sharing and routing it, until you go Pro. One stop swap is included.

What does Pro cost?

$72 a year — about $1.38 a week — or $3.99 a week. Those are US prices; Veya adjusts by country, so the App Store shows you yours before you buy.

Is there a trial?

The App Store offers one to people who haven't had a Veya trial before. If you're eligible the purchase screen says so.

Using itNo. 04

Can I change a stop I don't like?

Yes. Every stop has a swap on it — take one out and another lands in its place, without rebuilding the day around it.

Can I build the day around a place I already know?

Yes. Name the place, say roughly when it should fit, and the rest of the day is built around it. That stop is never one of the held ones.

Does it know about dietary needs?

Yes — halal, kosher, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free, plus a setting that keeps bars and breweries out of your days entirely. They're respected on every day Veya builds, and if it can't honour them it says so rather than serving you a day that doesn't.

Will it send me somewhere twice?

It tries hard not to. Veya remembers where it has already sent you, so the next day out is a genuinely different one.

Can I send a day to someone?

Yes. Any day can leave the app as a link that opens in any browser, with no account and nothing to install. The link works for 30 days, and whoever gets it can keep the day to their own library or have Veya build the same shape around them.

Devices and accountNo. 05

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Veya is on iPhone today and Android is in development. In the meantime, a day someone sends you opens fine in any browser.

Does it work on iPad?

It runs on iPhone. There's no iPad layout yet.

Do I need an account?

Yes — it's what makes your days survive losing your phone. You can sign in with email, Apple or Google.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, under Account. It wipes your kept days, your ratings and everything shaping your recommendations. Note that it doesn't cancel a Pro subscription — Apple handles billing, so cancel that in your App Store settings first.

Can I start over without deleting everything?

Yes. Resetting your recommendations clears what Veya has learned about your taste — where it's sent you, what you rated, what it picked up — while leaving every day you've kept exactly where it is.
